Mario Williams is a Buffalo Bill. Not only that, from what I caught of the press conference he sounds happy to be here as a part of this organization. While at one time in history that may have been a “So what? Anyone who signs a $100 million dollar contract will come off as best they can” I don’t feel that is the case these days. Arrogant sells pretty well in 2012. It has for years.
Our line is something to fear. To quote my Dad it makes the guy on the other side of the line 30 percent better. We have three Pro Bowl quality linemen. We have a TBD with Shawne Merriman.
I will always support the team and I am convinced last years collapse would have hit me harder if not for the birth of my son. I am a big fan, but the birth of a child proved to me my priorities are in order on some level. It was still hard though. I was convinced the playoffs were our destination after that fast start.
I kept telling myself, this team is not line the 2008 team that collapsed. We are much better. That 2008 team started 5-1 and finished 7-9. Last year we started 4-1 and finished 6-10. At the end of the day we didn’t look that much different on paper. At the end of the season though I had hope the 2012 Bills could build on the positives of the 2011 team.
Stevie Johnson was resigned. Huge. I made a comment that it would be nice to have Mario to a friend. I didn’t think of it as anything but a pipe dream. Then this week happened. I am starting to feel that late 80’s early 90’s vibe with the team. We just picked up the biggest free agent prize in the league. He came here first to visit. He stayed here.
Welcome to Bills Country Mario. Prepare to feed off the frenzy of the crowd. I think we have the makings of a playoff contender.
